Optral enters the Water market

We are pleased to announce that Optral, a company with over 30 years of experience in the telecommunications market as a manufacturer of fiber optic cables, has partnered with the Catalan Water Partnership (CWP) to venture into a new market focused on sustainability and efficient water management.

We will learn from the expertise of CWP partners and collaborators about the water cycle, aiming to contribute innovative technology for environmental protection and efficient water management to companies involved in water capture and distribution.

The Catalan Water Partnership is a nonprofit strategic association comprising companies and knowledge centers operating in the sustainable water use sector. It promotes projects and multilevel collaborations to achieve innovative solutions for global water quality needs, applicable worldwide and across various sectors.

Traditionally, the Water industry has utilized technology that records leaks sporadically and lacks a preventive approach. The OSensor solution, based on fiber optic sensor cables, provides real-time information about the security and structural health of kilometers of water pipes or square meters of dams with a resolution of one meter.
